 Network
The State of the World Forum network represents one of the most diverse networks in the world. It is comprised of a wide array of people and institutions from a broad spectrum of disciplines, and convenes discussions and strategic initiatives on issues that are substantive and urgently requiring global attention. It has also attracted and provided significant participation by women and youth.

The first State of the World Forum was convened in 1995 by Mikhail Gorbachev and fellow Co-Chairs Oscar Arias, Ruud Lubbers, Thabo Mbeke, George Schultz, Rigoberta Menchu Tum, Maurice Strong and Ted Turner.
