High Level Consultations

The Commission's primary goal is to have a direct and positive influence on the future reform and strengthening of the United Nations, WTO, and Bretton Woods institutions (International Monetary Fund and the World Bank). To this end, the Commission intends to establish a number of formal and informal consultative arrangements within the G8, G20 and G77 governmental groups, critical parliamentary committees, cabinet ministries and with Heads of State and their senior staff and advisors. Additional consultative arrangements will be established with a variety of civil society and corporate constituency groups and professional associations.

This educational and consultative process will be central to the Commission's efforts to raise awareness of the Commission's findings and recommendations among important policy making communities.

Public Education & Communication

The Commission on Globalization's mission is to assist all participants to design new agendas for their communities and to enhance collective action that is directed towards the improvement of institutions and a more inclusive and informed democratic decision making process. In order to achieve this goal, the Commission's activities will engage and incorporate the opinions of a broad and diverse group of constituencies and international communities.

To avoid exclusivity, a rigorous public outreach program is being developed to educate, communicate and disseminate the Commission's findings on globalization issues to governing institutions and the global public. These efforts will include:

A Public Website with a full presentation of the Commission's project reports, a research and reference archive, list-servers for public comment, and hosted and self-organizing discussion groups will be established.

Town Hall Meetings for the general public will be convened around the world. Over a dozen invitations have been received to conduct meetings in different international regions.

Television & Radio Programming designed to communicate the key findings of the Commission's activities, while providing for public comment and dialogue, will be produced and distributed to a wide global audience.
